  1. I've been playing it during the free weekend and I'll probably buy it during the sale because I like this sort of thing. Its a slower more realistic type of shooter, and I feel that the main fun comes from the COOP modes and the 'zombie' game mode. Weapon handling and customization is very realistic, so if you're a gun nerd like me you'd like it.
  2. So me and Soul tried this out this morning. Installation went fine with a fresh FarCry installation, and the thing basically works. There are some funny things like it resetting your controls each time you launch the game but nothing horrible. The main problem seems to be that all of the servers are in Europe and that there are no players.... If we want to get 6-8 of us together one night and play it I think it would be pretty fun for nostalgia if nothing else!
  3. Great! we're on the Battlefield 5 train now
  4. 1. The final installation size for me is about 50gb, so I would think the download would be at least 40gb. 2. I haven't seen ping kicks directly from servers, although I have seen some EA connectivity problems when on a poor connection. I wouldn't expect that game to run that well at 300 ping but it's hard to say. All the servers for the game at this point are 'official' servers and I don't know if they have a built in ping kick.
  5. Well they still have a few months, maybe they'll take the huge backlash seriously and give us the gritty authentic WWII game we want.
  6. Some leaks have said WW2, some have said Bad Company, I think some might have said 2143 also. I'm hoping for 2143 too!
  7. Howdy folks, I've noticed that we have a pretty good sized group of people on Steam that own Rising Storm 2, but that only myself, Soul, K, and Frog play it regularly. I know that many of you have hopped on for one or two games and may have gotten a bad taste in your mouth about the game. I implore you to give it another shot or two; the game does have a somewhat steep learning curve for the first couple hours but once you get comfortable it is a very fun game that is extremely teamwork oriented. I believe that you'll find that after the first hour or two the main frustrations will fade away and you'll be able to enjoy the game. The primary things about the game that can be frustrating are the difficulties in spotting enemies and how fast you die from almost anything. Spotting enemies becomes much easier with a few hours practice in the game, and you'll soon get used to the damage model. The most important thing to remember when starting out is to take things slow, use cover, and don't get frustrated when you get killed. Getting killed is of little consequence in the game, and getting killed in the process of gaining ground or taking objectives is what is sometimes necessary for the team to win. Anyways, please consider giving the game another (or first) chance. Those of us who play it regularly would love to see more of our members get into it, and we would of course be more than happy to show you the ropes and help you get comfortable. I would not recommend playing the game for the first few times by yourself--playing with a group or even just a pair is infinitely more fun. If you're by yourself and want to get acquainted, you can always hop into the game's practice range. If you have any questions or issues please feel free to message me on Steam!

I would definitely like to. I'll try to find some time to get back into it in the coming weeks.
  9. Btw, if anyone is having issues getting the game to let you set your resolution higher than something absurdly low, go into the revive launcher's settings and enable widescreen mode for the game. Then you'll be able to use normal resolutions.
  10. I expect to have some time to play on either Wednesday or Thursday night if not both if you guys would like to join me!
  11. https://bl2142.co/ I downloaded and installed this earlier today and had an absolute blast reliving the 2142 glory days. It seems that some folks actually went to all the effort to build a launcher and working master server system for BF2 and 2142 to replace the Gamespy system that went down several years ago. All you have to do is register an account on the site, download the launcher/installer, download the game, and hop on in just like normal. It includes all the maps/modes/etc of the original game and from the way it plays you would have no idea you weren't playing on the vanilla servers. I was able to play on a full 64 player conquest server for several hours today with no issues. They give you a new CD key that is used with their authentication servers automatically, so you don't need to worry about digging out your old copy to find a CD key or anything like that. You don't need to have ever owned the game to play this; it seems that EA doesn't really mind them doing this because the game is basically dead otherwise. I would love to see some other people from the clan hop on this and come play some classic battlefield! I'm pretty busy with school these days but I can definitely find some time to play my favorite battlefield game with my favorite gaming buds. If anyone has an issues or questions I would be more than happy to help!
  12. Its already active, I've been playing a bit.
