  1. My dad can probably help me with the actual assembly, I just don't know what parts to get, and I'd probably screw something simple up and blow it all up... Also, alienware is a joke, I'd never buy from them unless I felt like wasting lots of money
  2. I have changed it to stay with 2 monitors... I am satisfied with 2 monitors, but 3 would just be that over the top awesomeness that would be a good addition when I have money to blow on upgrading them. So only 2 monitors. I get how most stuff works, it's GPUs that just completely lose me.
  3. Preface: I've just finished moving in. My money is now for my computer! I have failed building pretty much every piece of furniture I bought (and it's like, screw a in slot f stuff I messed up) so I'd preferably buy a rig instead of build, but everyone says OMG BUILD ONE! SO CHEAPER BLA BLA BLA NOT HARD! so maybe? I'm pretty clueless. I think I know about some stuff, but then I get confused and doubt everything xD What is its purpose? I want to play games on 2 monitors and stream while playing (maybe 3 monitors later if that doesn't make too much hassle). I run at 1440x900 but would like to be able to run on higher res when I upgrade my monitors, if I do. I'm all about multi tasking. I don't typically turn off my computer or keep less than 20 web tabs open along with my games, streaming, and watching stuff. I want this rig to last me at least 7 years, I'm aiming for 10 before it's obsolete though. (my current rig is on year 5 and won't let me play D3 without a fair bit of lag T~T ) What is the price? I'm looking to spend less than $2000. Preferably around $1500 or less. Cheaper is better, but I'm fine spending more if it is worth it. What do I want specifically? 16GB RAM 1600 (preferably 2x8GB) or faster, but that shiz is crazy expensive 60 SSD Primary to boot super fast. Bigger would be nice if there's a deal or something. 1TB secondary USB 3.0 What do I THINK I want? High NVIDIA GPU. Or AMD? I really have no clue... but NVIDIA has been what I've used most of my life. Pentium quad core 3.0Ghz processor or better. All this sandy/ivy stuff I haven't been able to follow much... Sound card! I'd be willing to pay $200 for a nice sound card for recording, streaming, and listening to stuff. If there's one that's good and cheap that can give me all of that too, then I don't NEED an expensive card, but I'm willing to pay for quality. A cheap blu ray, multimedia reader, all that other crap that really doesn't matter or cost much. In conclusion: Halp me? plz? I'm open to anything you might want me to read, learn, look up. I would rather like to have either someone help me build a PC on ibuypower or another site like that since it's so much easier. Every time I think I've understood a little about GPU's it ends up making me doubt everything I've ever known about computers ever. Also, feel free to just ignore this post. I don't want to hear how I should never buy from ibuypower and I should just build a rig. Just ignore that thread if that's all you've got to say. I know I'm asking a lot, but please feel free to not help, and if you do I will love you forever. Maybe even buy you something for your trouble or something, I don't know I'm tired.
  4. My current rig: CPU Arch : 1 CPU - 2 Cores - 2 Threads CPU PSN : AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ CPU EXT : MMX(+), 3DNow!(+), SSE (1, 2, 3), x86-64, AMD-V CPUID : F.B.1 / Extended : F.6B CPU Cache : L1 : 2 x 64 / 2 x 64 KB - L2 : 2 x 512 KB Core : Brisbane (65 nm) / Stepping : BH-G1 Freq : 2310.25 MHz (200.92 * 11.5) MB Brand : Dell MB Model : 0RY206 NB : NVIDIA MCP61 rev A3 SB : NVIDIA MCP61 rev A2 GPU Type : NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT GPU Clocks : Core 540 MHz / RAM 700 MHz DirectX Version : 11.0 RAM : 4096 MB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM Speed : 330 MHz (Unknown) @ 5-5-5-15 Slot 1 : 1024MB (6400) Slot 1 Manufacturer : Wintec Industries Slot 2 : 1024MB (6400) Slot 2 Manufacturer : Wintec Industries Slot 3 : 1024MB (5300) Slot 3 Manufacturer : Samsung Slot 4 : 1024MB (5300) Slot 4 Manufacturer : Samsung I don't want to upgrade, I want to get a new rig entirely. That's what I desire, also I KNOW my processor needs an upgrade, I didn't like how slow it was when I bought it. I honestly don't care about making my own rig. Only bad stuff can come from me making my own rig, cus if anything gets messed up I know it's my own fault. I'm willing to pay $300 on convenience if I can get a really nice premade rig. I will defiantly post here (and the other 5 places I asked for help) when the time gets closer, which will probably be a month or two, maybe more.
  5. Who actually melee's though? Even the monk has less of a zeal skill than a long range aoe punch. And you don't even get to use it with wizards shoop da wooping everything (at least for now, hope there's no iron maiden spells D:) Also the charge ability is nothing like the paladin's, which makes me sad. Is there a way to assign different spells to different keys?
  6. I really really want to get a new computer just because I always want a better computer, but it would benefit me to wait before buying it, which will in turn make it cheaper to buy, and when that time comes i'll make sure to check back here.
  7. Meh, I've been asking around and figured it's just best to give up... I'll do some self research and come back to it in a few months, hopefully hard drives will go back down in price and gpu's too
  8. yeah, that's too expensive just for a Hard drive. Load times don't bother me enough to spend so much on so little space. I know the speed is worth it, just not to me. Yeah, I'm defiantly going to research my board before I commit to everything, well research EVERYTHING. Also, I can get windows from my dad, like a baws.
  9. EDIT: I gave up I don't have any clue on how to build a computer, but everyone says I should instead of getting a rig built for me from dell or ibuypower. I want to have the best gaming rig I can get for about $1500 Here's what I've gathered that I want so far: CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 3820 - $300 RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 - $119 or CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 - $96 HDD/SSD: Thinking maybe a 60GB SSD for my OS and other stuff I might need, and then a 500GB/1TB additional drive, or just a 1TB HDD. I don't care about brands too much, just as long as the speed is fast. - $200? Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium- $100 Optical Drive: Don't care, Dvd/cd/bluray combo drive - $60 GPU: NO IDEA! I want to be able to play high res borderless window'ed games while streaming and maybe playing a second game in the background... Don't judge me Mother Board: Same as above. No idea about mother boards. I want USB 3.0 and whatever can hold the rest. Case: Whatever can fit it all Power: Don't care, it'll probably have to be 700/850W though - $100 So that leaves about $700 for the GPU, Mobo, and case. So, should I go through all this trouble or just buy an ibuypower PC with all of that and an AMD 6870 Crossfired for $1549?
  10. It's diablo. Very boring on easy difficulty. If you've played D2 you can pretty much expect the same from what I've played so far. It's nice to see some of the basic skills first hand t hough
  11. My friend convinced me not to go with dell, so i'm looking on ibuypower.com and i've got an ok rig set up under 2000 I just don't know what gpu to get. Right now I selected: AMD Radeon HD 6870 - 1GB - CrossFire Mode (Dual Cards) And that is around my price range, but I have no idea if that's what I want. The purpose of my rig is to play lots of games on max settings and live stream it sometimes. This is what I had selected at dell though if anyone was wondering: http://imgur.com/lufqG
  12. Rules & Tips when playing SMNC We'd like to welcome you to Super Monday Night Combat and the Closed Invitational Forums. As you are about to find out on your own, "The Rules Have Changed" significantly. Because the transition from MNC to SMNC can be a bit rough, We thought it would be helpful to post a list of tips and suggestions to follow in game and on forum. Hopefully these tips will make your gameplay experience a bit more enjoyable for not only you, but the small group of other players as well. Enjoy! Money = Experience: This means any money earned from killing pros, bots, and picking up coins will become experience. Coin drops give significantly less experience than pro and bot kills, but do give a noticeable edge if you continuously collect them. Avoiding death is top priority: Because money equals experience, every time you die to an opponent you are "feeding" them. Die enough to one player and you will find that he will have a significant level advantage on you two fold, due to the facts that you have been handing over kills and because you haven’t been leveling off bots. Having high earnings means nothing if you have fed the opponents. Do Not Over Extend: With the extremely increased health. The low lethality creates a false sense of invincibility to many new players. It isn't worth running too far behind the enemy lines to finish a kill if you end up dying for it. You must learn that conserving your self is a huge priority. Since respawn times get longer as the match goes on, you put your team at a disadvantage every time you die. Kill bots: NOT JUST THE ASSASSIN ANYMORE! In the beginning of the game, every person should be killing bots and playing conservatively to gain levels. Ignoring bots will quickly cause you to become under leveled, and you will have a significant disadvantage the rest of the game. Tap bots: While it is vital to kill bots to progress towards enemy turrets, if you’re not in a position to kill a bot entirely, make sure to at least hit it with skills/weapons. “Tapping” a bot will give you the experience it would normally give out for the next 5 seconds following your damage, and it is an essential tactic if you want to try and gain an advantage over opponents. While you can tap Shadys, Fujis and Jackbots, the cash rewarded from killing a slim but only goes to the player who kills it. The Juice has changed: Don't expect to go god mode with your juice anymore. Juice no longer will instant heal you and gives no armor bonus. Juice will give you a damage bonus, a speed boost, and massively increased health regeneration (as long as you aren’t attacked/burning). You can also use it to break out of any grapple, but it will use up nearly all of your juice. Beware of the edge / Keep an eye on the ejectors: Every One Hit Kills (OHKO) death has been removed except for ring outs. It's important to stay away from the edge of the map since an enemy can easily catch you off guard and get a free easy kill simply by ringout. Pay attention to the ejectors. Ejectors kill many unaware players. It can be avoided by simply staying away while ejector is off CD. Check the annihilator: Can't stress this one enough. The annihilator can be game changing. The cool down on the annihilator is five minutes. As a contributing member of your team, it's important to be defending the annihilator at least 15 seconds before the cool down is up. Grapple / avoid grapples: Every class has one. Grappling is very important in this game. It can be used for many situations. Use it to hold down an escaping opponent. Use it to contain a juiced enemy. Use it to protect an escaping ally. Use it to cancel annihilator activation. Since this move is so effective against the enemy, you should avoid getting close enough to be grappled by your opponent. Don’t be discouraged: There’s enough new mechanics to this game where being good at MNC won’t carry over to being good at SMNC. Just hang in there. we promise that this game is fun once you’ve learned how to play it. Monitor your HUD: You need to check your HUD frequently to check the status of bot lanes, to watch the health of friendlies, and to make sure your moneyball is shielded. It is essential to stopping backdoor maneuvers. Adjust for Team Composition: 2-3 assassins is no more effective than it was in MNC. Before locking in your pro, take a look at what everyone else wants to play. Typically the only pros necessary on the team are a healer, veteran, and second enforcer (heavy). It will only benefit you to learn to play multiple pros. Choosing pros that help create a diverse composition will only benefit your team. The spawn room heals: Running into the spawn room will rapidly heal your pro. Many times, instead of risking death, it is better to run back to spawn and heal up. It's better to spend 15 seconds running to the spawn and back than dying and suffering a 30 second penalty. However, it should be noted that spending too much time running to the base will drain cash and experience gained, meaning repeated returns will leave you outleveled and outgunned. Thank You, Uber Entertainment
  13. you still are thinking this is MNC 1. You can't customize your towers in any moba... You also can't repair them, so it's a real attack/defend game 2. There's no hacking, healing, or anything to towers. If you push their tower with minions then they have to defend, or the tower goes down easy. 3. It's a moba! There's no OT, the money ball is the goal just like the nexus in lol, you have to beat the towers before you can reach it 4. Minions are strong early game, and will destroy you if you try to fight them. If you hid behind even 1 minion though they won't focus you, which makes pushing strategical, you can help push or fight people (pushing being the benifical thing to do) 5. Jungle is pretty much a second story. You get a good pov and it is where the anni is. The jungle creeps will MESS YOU UP! So you cant just sit there and snipe. It isn't so much for the gold, but you can still kill the minions below. It's a riskier but easier to navigate route to your objectives 6. Juice made you invincible since you could kill anyone pretty much, unless you're bad. As this is much more like a moba, all classes are good on health and NOBODY goes down in 1 hit. If you have juice you can probably score some kills, but you can still be killed quite easily
  14. I downloaded it, but uninstalled before I even tried it xD Just didn't make me want to play it... Never played any other tribes adn i already got so many games to play D:
  15. "The rules have changed" 1. Towers can't be build/upgraded 2. Towers can only be attacked after your minions attack it, thus lowering their shields 3. There is no OT 4. New minions, minions will rape you if you try to kill them alone. 5. There is a junlge 6. Juice gives super health regen and 100% crits, but neither of these make you invincible
